ENNOH’s long-term infrastructure outlook for Europe’s hydrogen system
The TYNDP provides a long-term, data-driven view on Europe’s future hydrogen infrastructure needs, informs EU policy processes, and supports strategic infrastructure planning.
What is the TYNDP?
The Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) is the European long-term planning instrument for the hydrogen network. It provides a structured and evidence-based outlook on how the hydrogen system may evolve, identifies infrastructure needs, and supports the EU’s wider decarbonisation objectives.
The TYNDP process developed by ENNOH brings together scenario development, the preparation and refinement of methodologies such as the Cost–Benefit Analysis and the system-needs framework, as well as the collection of data and project information from system operators and project promoters. Based on these inputs, ENNOH conducts modelling and analytical assessments to determine future network requirements, evaluate the impact of development pathways, and perform the CBA for hydrogen infrastructure. The results of this work are shared with the European Commission and form an analytical basis for European energy-infrastructure processes.
It is important to clarify that ENNOH does not award PCI or PMI status, does not approve or certify projects, and does not take investment decisions. ENNOH’s role is analytical, not regulatory.
